Purpose of Event To engage fathers and daughters in meaningful experiences to create memories that last a lifetime and allow deeper development of their personal relationship as well as their relationships with Jesus. Contribution to Success Set up and tore down events, monitored zip lines, engaged participants, stimulated conversation, acknowledged guests needs, created fun atmosphere.
Reflection This event taught me the importance of customer engagement and turning "no" into "yes". A major goal of the event was to remove all daily obstacles that get in the way of Dad's and their daughters and to create a completely carefree environment. This meant that when a dad locked his keys in his car, we were the ones to solve the problem, completely giving him the time to engage with his daughter. As a result, I learned that working retreats is more than just set up and tear down, it is meeting every need that arises with a solution, no matter how odd.

October 15 2019
Purpose of Event To celebrate and experience great music among fellowship and to raise money for the Friends of Chamber Music. Contribution to Success Directed and greeted guests. Set up and organized food tables. Collected Trash. Cleaned up.
Reflection This event taught me the importance of communication among the planners and a set game plan prior to showing up. The planners in charge of this event were fairly scattered and unsure of who was in charge of what, which made it hard as volunteers to do a successful job of helping out. They left many decisions up to us, which was great practice, but also felt unprofessional to us as volunteers.
Pumpkin Palooza at Millican Reserve
October 20 2019
Purpose of Event Celebrate the fall season, enjoy some pumpkin' chunkin', and support local youth and family outdoor programs.
Contribution to Success Monitored the inflatable relay, obstacle course. Made sure guests were following rules and that safety was a top priority.
Reflection This event taught me the importance of doing the "little jobs". Through my experience working this event, I came to realize how important it is to the success of the event to have volunteers doing the jobs that seem insignificant and unimportant. A event planner or manager cannot be worried about things like inflatable safety on the day of the event, but also don't want to neglect the importance of providing entertainment like inflatables. Someone needs to do the odd jobs, and volunteers are necessary contributors to that.

It really opened my eyes to the amount of small things that need to be done before an event begins as well as the importance of having event managers who know what is going on. I was able to experience the preparing but also get to see how the hard work was worth it when the night went smoothly. It was a really unique experience and one I will remember forever!
Zachry Leadership Program Alumni Breakfast

Purpose of Event To engage program alumni in reflective dialogue while creating a space for them to reminiscence and reconnect with their cohorts. Contribution to Success Set up and tore down event, ran to get supplies when needed, managed cleaning and organization of the spaces, documented event through photography.
Reflection My participation in this event taught me that a lot of event attendance can be sitting around for someone to need something, and then acting quickly and efficiently to complete the tasks as they arise. I began to understand that if you do your job well during the planning stage, there is not much but monitoring and set up during the day of.

Contribution to Success Planned the event, contributed to event set up and directed employers during the event.
Reflection My participation in this event taught me how to plan and implement a professional event with a lot of expected attendees. This was not an area I had previous experience in as most events I have planned or participated in are personal. Additionally, I learned how to be flexible when things don't go according to plan and how to accommodate successfully when mix-ups occur. I was able to practice professional communication with employers as well as peers.
