Responsibilities of a Quest Counselor
Job Description
Quest Colorado is a ten day summer camp program located in the beautiful Sangre De Cristo Mountains near Westcliffe, Colorado. It is for students who just completed their freshman year of high school. The staff is made up of thirteen college students, eight girls and five boys, who are counselors to a total of fifty campers each session. The job consists of managing a cabin of campers, creating a fun atmosphere during the activities and night events, sharing the gospel and building deep and lasting relationships with the campers. There are eleven sessions of camp as well as two weeks of staff training, making the job a total commitment of thirteen weeks.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must be a committed, active believer in the Christian faith and in agreement with all of Sky Ranches doctrinal beliefs as listed here: https://skyranch.org/pages/our-beliefs. Additionally, the individual must be high energy, a clear communicator, good at time management, adaptable and willing to be selfless and serve at all times like Christ did. A Quest Counselor must be passionate about working with fifteen-year-olds and be confident in leading and taking initiative.
Benefits and Opportunities
Pay is around $2,200 for thirteen weeks, but all housing and meals are provided for, the only exception being if you chose to eat or stay off camp during time off. Additionally, networking is a large part of the program and is encouraged by staff at all levels. This program provides an incredible opportunity to live in a small, unknown part of Colorado and unplug from all distractions of the regular world. The water is fresh from the stream, the stars are incredible and the scenery is breathtaking. Life in this program is simple yet purposeful.

Applying the skills and knowledge acquired in RPTS 370 and 371 as well as RPTS 304 and 474. Managing youth, communicating in a professional environment and networking within the camping ministry field.
